Judging Guidelines

(The following rules are to be explained to all judges prior to trial by the Master of Hounds and a representative from Foxbeagle.Net)

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1.    <!--[endif]-->Cast time will be at daylight unless otherwise specified.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2.    <!--[endif]-->The hunt will be 3 hours.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3.    <!--[endif]-->Role Call is Mandatory.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4.    <!--[endif]-->All hounds will be ran in one-class.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->5.    <!--[endif]-->Most scores will be Speed/Drive.  If a hound is missed in a crossing the following hounds will not be scored.  If a hound is missed due to unclear numbers, the following hounds will be scored.  Hunting and trailing points will be added into the Speed/Drive score for the hound’s total.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->6.    <!--[endif]-->True scoring will be used.  All hounds will be scored as they cross.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->7.    <!--[endif]-->The most 1st place crossings will break all ties. In the event that the 2 tied hounds have equal 1st place crossing, then the 2nd place crossings will break the tie, and so on.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->8.    <!--[endif]-->The Master of Hounds will appoint a home plate judge who will check the cast area 3 or more times during the hunt.  Hounds will be scratched accordingly.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->9.    <!--[endif]-->A “Grace Period” of 15 minutes will be given at the start of each trial.  No scratching will be done during this period; however, scoring should start immediately.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->10.                       <!--[endif]-->Once the original “Grace Period” of 15 minutes expires, all hounds returning to cast will be scratched.  The judge should allow the hounds a few minutes to continue on.  All scratched hounds at the cast area should be crated.
